Anthony Coppi
Beginning Band - Beyond Beginning Band
Beginning Strings - Beyond Beginning Strings
About the Teacher:
Anthony studied Music at The Master's University in Santa Clarita, California. It was there that I was introduced to choir and I greatly improved my vocal abilities. It was also at TMU that I took private lessons in piano, percussion, bassoon, flute, and brass, as well as group instruction in conducting; all of which I was able to use while performing with and directing the TMU Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Chorale, and my local church orchestra.

It was in TMU Chorale (The highest auditioned choir) that I met and fell in love with my wife, Beth. She is my biggest fan and support as I build my career as a musician. She is also a musician who plays the French Horn and has the most wonderful soprano voice.

I currently teach 5th-12th grade instrumental music at Mount Vernon Christian School, and previously taught for 3 years in a public middle school in California.

My goals are to see every student who passes through the door of my classroom to learn to love music, become independent learners of music, and to desire to share their new skills with everyone they come in contact with.

Music is much more than just a hobby or a class. It is emotion, culture, science, math, history, and worship.

Becky Hedman
Choir
Beginning Guitar
About the Teacher:
I grew up surrounded by music - both parents were professional musicians and teachers, so my
siblings and I sang and played instruments from a young age. After high school, math and science interests led me to study engineering for three years before switching my major. I earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon School of Music, K-12 WA State certification in Choral and General Music, Kodaly Level 1 certification, and National Certification in Piano.
I've enjoyed working with children's choirs and musical drama productions at church for many years and have taught piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, voice and music theory for more than 30 years here in Skagit Valley.
I have a passion to help young people discover and develop their
gifts and use them for the Lord! In my free time I like to garden, sew, hike, research, and spend
time with family.
